You could say this was an interesting week. I attended a 3-day compulsory course at NACLI called Building Learning Capabilities from Tuesday to Thursday. It was a course for Snr Managers and I got to meet a few interesting personalities. Before the course, I heard there was going to be alot of team-building activities and I dreaded tat cos I’m not the team-building type. I dun think I learn anything performing those type of stunts. Luckily, we only got 1 team-building activity and I had to wayang a little bit. The course instructors were of higher calibre too, being a Principal Trainer and a GM and it helped tat they were open-minded. As I mentioned in the class check-out, I enjoyed the course because of the personal relationships, adaptability, thinking on your feet, planning and strategising. I also had fun at the NACLI maze and discovered tat Pasir Panjang had a rather big Harry’s Bar during a lunch sojourn. It was a kool 3 days. I was disappointed to miss the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve hike on the last morning as I had to be in the ofix but I wun bore people wif details. It was quite challenging oso as I worked from home in 2 of the 3 course nites to rush off sum powerpoint slides. Sigh, good life doesn’t always run its true course.
Lunch today was interesting. Went wif Vincent who shared sum points of view about the ofix. Poor Vincent, he’s a hard working fella and he has taken his share of pits and spills for the ofix. He still works like mad. Take it easy my fren and look after your health.
Being a Friday today was also interesting. The staff retreat organising com went to Sentosa for dinner at this place called ‘Á Taste of Singapore’. It was a treat Sentosa gave us for the rain fiasco at december’s staff retreat nite. Junaidah and Radha was there. Alex and Emily was there. And Jay replaced Huda, who was called up to handle clients at the last minute in ofix. It was a communal treat. We shared food and we had interesting conversation considering Mr CDC, Jay was there. I haven’t had such weird conversations in awhile. The blady food there was quite expensiv. Restaurant price…$11 for my plate of chicken rice. And it wasn’t tat nice. Ok lah, I guess you cun complain…excellent food these days mean you hav to pay a bomb. Sum restaurants can only go so far serving good food! At least I got to down a bottle of San Miguel.
An interesting week…looking forward to see wat the weekend brings…
Our singer-entertainer is leaving us…gud luck jamiel.
